Frank C. Kelly

Mayor Frank C. Kelly, age 84 a lifetime resident of Collingdale, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2018 after spending Thanksgiving with his family.

Born in Philadelphia and raised in Collingdale, Frank was a graduate of Collingdale High School class of 1953. After graduation, Frank went on to serve as a U.S Army veteran during the Korean War.

Frank retired as a linemen from Philadelphia Electric Company in 1994 and Philadelphia Regional Port Authority in 2010.

Dedicated with over 50 years of service to his community, Frank served as the longest active Mayor in the history of the state of Pennsylvania in Collingdale Borough. Prior to serving as Mayor he also served on the Darby Creek Joint Sewer Authority and Borough Council where he was the head of the Highway Committee. He was a member of the State Association of Mayors, State Association of Boroughs, Delaware County Republican Association and an Honorary Life Member of Collingdale Fire Company#1 .

A dedicated parishioner of St. Joseph's Church in Collingdale, he served as an usher. He was a member of the AOH and Irish Setter Club of America, Frank loved spending time with his family and his animals especially his Irish Setters.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed. He is predeceased by his wife Janet M. Kelly, son, Brian Kelly and his brother Thomas Kelly

Survivors: loving father of Jeannette (William) Morris, Frank (Lorraine) Kelly, Colleen (James) Gonzoph, Kathleen (Ron) Ruggear, Patrick (Sandra) Kelly, Kristine (Michael) Olley, grandfather of 17, great grandfather of 15, dear brother of Patricia Smith, Barbara Clarke and Kathy (Dave) Toland and Many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass: Friday, November 30 at 10am at St Joseph's Church, 500 Woodlawn Ave. Collingdale, PA. 19023.

Viewing: Thursday, 6-9pm and Friday 9-10am both are being held in the church

Burial: SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield
