John P. "Phil" George, age 78 of Prospect Park, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 19, 2022.
Phil was born in Cumberland, MD before moving to Norwood, PA at age 12. He graduated from St. James High School and quickly after married his sweetheart Leilani in March of 1963. Together they spent nearly 60 years building a beautiful life. Phil spent his career as a lead machinist for the Budd Company but would credit his family as his greatest accomplishment. He enjoyed tinkering, building, collecting, country music, loved old cars, and was the best story-teller. Above all, he loved spending time with his family in Ocean View, DE at "Camp George" .
Predeceased by his parents Jack and Eugenia George, twin sister Charlotte Povemba, son in law Daniel Terenick, brother-in-law Raymond Huber, and sister-in-law Carolyn Galbraith
Survivors: Beloved husband of Leilani George, loving father of Trace (Tom) Nicholl, John (Shannan) George, and Linda (Jim) McTighe, dear brother of Brian (Deborah) George, cherished Pop-pop of Daniel (Jessica) Terenick, Phillip Terenick, Dylan (Kelsey) Terenick, Alyssa (Aaron) Kintsche, Drew (Jacky) George, Olivia (Brock) George, James (Amelia) McTighe, Jared (Devon) McTighe, and Jaden McTighe, dear great grandfather of Aria, Kiera, and Daniel, brother in law of Catherine Lomax, Ron (Peggy) Huber, Ruth Huber, and Phil Povemba, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends who were more like family.
